Introducing Patient Co-ordinators Today most practices recognise that dentistry is a service industry. Consumers are becoming more knowledgeable and more demanding. In practice, explanations are often rushed and full of jargon so that patients don't always understand and may feel too embarrassed to ask in surgery. Ask your receptionist if they find they ever have to explain what the dentist meant. If expectations are not met patients will leave, and introducing a patient co-ordinator is one way of exceeding expectations.
